Merry Christmas, from all of us!

Sleepy X-mas Morn

and because Loryn didn't wake till almost noon, here's her "Christmas MORN" pic:

Shelby's Crazy Self

I stole this pic from Shelby's library.

She should learn a lesson from this...whatever's on the internet is "FREE FOR ANYONE TO LOOK AT"! Right, Nannie?

I could have posted some other pics...but they are very private, and I wouldn't want to embarrass her...that much, anyway. I'll save that for when she really pisses me off. ;-)

Big props if you know what movie that phrase/song is from.

Another picture Loryn drew

with MSPaint. She does amazing little drawings like this every day or so.

This one is, of course, a Wii-mote, or, as she calls it, "Wii-Wii-mote".

What an amazing Autist!

Another Anniversary!

This time, it's Shelby and Noah...their one year "anniversary" of "going out". :-)

Shelby made this video for him, and I thought it was special and sweet enough to post here...

Happy Anniversary to us!

Actually, our 11th anniversary was last Tuesday, November 4th (Election Day).

It was a GOOD anniversary, and Dave and I were stoked to play a little WoW and then watch the election returns. We squirted a tear or two together, listening to President Elect Obama's speech that night. But we had little money to do much more than go out to eat at our favorite local eatery then head home and hang out with the kids. A wonderful evening, in its own right.

But we agreed then that our real Anniversary gift to each other would be the World of Warcraft expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King.

So, last night I schlepped over to the local game store, where a handful of chicks and about 100 guys were waiting for the magic hour (midnight)...when WotLK went on sale!

Some people were even dressed up, ya'll! I went with the uber-kewl "Dork" sweatshirt and jeans. ;-)

I haven't hit level 71 yet on Lucy, but I'm way ahead of Dave with quests completed. Not to mention I've explored more of the new content. :-)

Look What Loryn Drew...

On a Nick Jr. Free Draw page!

She likes Batman and Robin a lot lately. We have the new Lego Batman game for PS3, and she can actually navigate it pretty well. I don't know that she does much more than run around, though.

So, this is her "Robin" picture. Pretty impressive.

Did I ever mention...

that gaming is HUGE in our house? ;-)

Shelby told me that Tori had been "a little off" after playing PS3 stuff the day before... Little Big Planet (our new favorite), Grand Theft Auto, and the Sims. Here's video of Tori, playing a WarHawk demo, with Shelby in full-throttle "irritation" mode. Shelby knew I was recording, Tori did not.

Turn DOWN the volume at the end, though...Loryn came into frame and was sooo cute asking me to find a YouTube video for her...but then screeched pretty loud right into the camera. Ah well...at least you get to hear her words! She's really progressed in her communication over the last year or so.

General Nerdiness

These boys are pretty cute. And hilarious. Cute and hilarious rank pretty high in my book...everyone I love falls into at least one of those categories.

And their show returns for a second season January 18, 2009, so I'm pretty stoked.

In other news, tomorrow at midnight, yours truly will be on line at Game Stop for the release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. Yep, me and all the other gamers in Staunton. I'm thinking of calling in sick to work so that I can play all day Thursday, except for the fact that I'm only supposed to work 3-7. I'd post more about this exciting event, except that you'd think I was a major dork.

Which I am.

That is all. :-)

Happy 60th Birthday, Big Daddy!

The girls and I visited my parents in Danville this past weekend.

From L to R: Loryn (6), wearing Shelby's headphones while listening to "Anyone Else But You" from the Juno soundtrack, Ashlyn (9) is behind my Mom, Mom and Kenny in the middle, Shelby (15) and beside her, Tori (10).

It's me again.

OK.

First post here, in this venue, this address, whatev.

Many (well, more than 4, anyway) blogs have been started and left to wither away somewhere in the interwebz, but forget them for now. And no apologies, either. My writing, my ideas, and thoughts and feelings and amusing anecdotes...If I suddenly decide that nothing I think or say is worth writing about all the frakkin time, then that's just fine, right? RIGHT?

I'm married to a great guy. Most of the time. (No, he's "great" most of the time...not, "I'm married, most of the time"). Sheesh! I'll call him Big D, or Biz, cuz I <3 nicknames.

I have four daughters. They reek of awesomeness. I imagine I'll be writing about them here, as long as they're comfortable with it.

We are an unschooling family. That means we don't send our kids to school. We've had brushes with the school system (Shelby, soon-to-be-15) has had the longest school career, but she dropped out after 3rd grade. Oh, and when I say/write that we're an unschooling family, I also mean that we don't really do school at home, either. I don't "teach" the kids anything. There are textbooks here, but we use them as resources only...and there's a film of dust covering most of them. They're just not that important to learning. I'll probably write LOTS about unschooling here, so I'll let it drop for now. Please, if you have any questions about unschooling, feel free to ask. PS....YES the kids are "socialized". Ask that one and you'll likely get a smart-ass answer...especially from the girls.

I'll probably write about music, and books, and movies that inspire me and/or make me laugh. I'm a nerd/geek hybrid (I play World of Warcraft with my husband, for hours, sometimes), and I wear cute glasses and work part-time at a library. I have a weight problem, and I'm sexy as all hell.

Oh! My two youngest daughters are on the Autism spectrum. Years ago this meant more to me than it does now, but I mention it because, well...it comes up occasionally. More so with the younger daughter, who has erratic sleep patterns (hence I'm awake, starting a new blog at 2:00 AM).

I'm Paige, and I like to laugh and dance.
